Game design studio sounds fine. We need a logo. Also I think we should scrap flyingdutchmen.online and get theflyingdutchmen.games since we’re going to end up paying the same anyway.

I'll reiterate the concerns I expressed on Saturday so everyone is on the same page.

Even the nutshell is daunting. It's a bit unclear what the goal is. Are we trying to establish ourselves as a service provider for publishers? For game creators? Or are we seeking services ourselves?

This doesn't seem like something that happens normally in business. Normally, creators seek the services of publishers or publishers seek the services of manufacturers. I'm not saying it couldn't happen. But, if we think publishers are too busy to look at our game and then we're asking them for more time to explain why they should take a chance on this other idea we've got, I'd only expect a, "We'll have someone call ya' kid but don't wait by the phone."

Publishers don't need a 4-man playtesting agency. Any games they have in development would already have been thoroughly playtested. This time around, I really think we need to approach this from a perspective of educating ourselves about how things work instead of trying to explain what we think might be worth a shot.

I don't think we should offer playtesting as a service to publishers and, although we may be able to show off a couple of online games that they can test drive, I don't think we're coordinated enough to call ourselves an online development team either.

If anything, I think we could call ourselves a design and development firm and offer prototyping services to other game creators. But that wouldn't have anything to do with getting KRED published.

As far as that goes, we need extensive play testing, intimate knowledge of every aspect of the game, well rehearsed talking points and a kick-ass sell sheet. I got a reply from Custom Box Makers and, if we can get 8 boxes with inserts, the rest will be a piece of piss. We just need to set up a big play test fest.

This is my main beef with people like Jon Stewart, John Oiver etc. All the work that goes into gathering information and checking facts ends up being undermined by the flashy presentation that tells you what the appropriate way to process that information should be.

But these kinds of shows are very popular for a reason. It's not that people can't think for themselves. It's that people don't always want to. We're busy with basic shit and, when we're not busy, we're tired. A lot of us just want to pop on YouTube to get a few juicy morsels we can regurgitat the next day to seem (or feel) like we're keeping up with things.

Anyway yeah, intolerant of intolerance is a good way to be.

There are a few rogue endquotes so I'm not sure who's saying what in places. But - although I haven't read any of those books - what you're saying mostly sounds good to me. Just a couple of nits.

What do I think? Moratorium? That's cute.

It took me a minute too but, it appears to illustrate that Claude and Chappie's moral compasses are influenced in different ways depending on whether those models include biblical psalms or proverbs.

Chappie's capacity for 'Common Sense' seems to increase when either psalms or proverbs are introduced. However, Claude's decreases considerably with proverbs (psalms has no effect).

'Deontology' (sense of duty and obligation) increases for Chappie but decreases for Claude in both cases.

'Justice' increases but 'Virtue' decreases for both Chappie and Claude in both cases. (Figure that one out.)

Hates AI or hates copyright? Both could be said to make things boring. A conversation about AI biting artists' work to 'generate' images rightly involves copyright law. But Claude is a tool, shouldn't we be discussing patent law instead? I'm not even sure how patent law differs.

Is it a statement about Japan’s return as a military power or Japan being a sycophant to the US? (Did y’all see that giggle-hop fan girl hug Takaichi gave trump?) The flag is certainly provocative.

I don't understand the concept of people doing something to experience. Maybe a kickflip would make more sense in discussing machine learning. A better example might be engineering and making a technical drawing of a new type of dunk tank. In theory, that could be done strictly within the scope of bits and bytes. In practice, it actually has been done by numerous humans who have some experience using tools and materials in the real world of cost/availability, structure failure and leakage.

There are at least 100 blank spaces that say "Show Image". What is this?

Like doing a kickflip. There is an extensive library of examples and tutorials about doing kickflips. The data is there but you can’t kick a flip without experience. Do or could an AI ever have that?

Yeah, I would probably only do it if an opponent were one title fight away from certain victory. Other than that, it would be pretty superfluous.

I don’t think you should be allowed to pay the cops to raid the fight. That seems like a very uncommon and counterproductive thing to do. Just abstaining from paying them off is good enough and that way, even if you try to fuck everyone over (like I did), it’s not guaranteed to work (like it didn’t).

Bribing a fighter should be a very rare thing to want to do and a very rare thing to actually succeed in doing. Like you should put up a bunch of money to bribe the fighter to take a dive in a specific round. You shuffle one “take a dive” card into the deck and, if the dive card comes up in the round that you bet on them losing, then it’s a successful bribe. Otherwise, the card is ignored and another is drawn.

I'm very excited about this game! Much more now that I have an idea how it works. I have a few questions and suggestions.

If you hit $0, is it going to be like one of those games where you have no real hope of winning but you drag yourself along for the sake of the other players? I think the promoters should be lifting themselves out of the gutter. The bookies should have minimum bets on all fights and going bankrupt at least once should be common. Then give players the loan shark option. I really think betting, bribing and borrowing would be a nice trinity of transgression.

Under Venues & Bribes it says "Requires $50 bribe" and "Requires $150 bribe". Then under Fouls & Exceptions, it says 50/50 chance of raid if bribe was not paid. So I guess it's not required?

Here's an idea: It would be cool if both promoters had the option to pay the bribe but neither of them knew if the other had paid it unless/until the place gets raided.

Can I bribe your fighters to take a dive?

Can you bet on a fight between two fighters from your own stable?

You can't train for Chin. Can you train for Draw?

Can a Tomato Can become a Champion or are Champions born?

I'm not clear on how the cards work. You use 30 or 36 cards but only one card per round (so 10 or 12) cards? Then it says, "The game draws one cards." Huh?

Here's a more concise way to describe the 'ducking' aspect:
If you offer at least 65% in a title challenge to a rival promoter and they decline, your fighter receives a bump (+1) to his Draw as this is considered 'ducking' by the champion.

I think "Venues have three tiers." is wrong. Shouldn't it be something like, "Each venue is at one of three tiers."?

Is TKO an actual outcome? Is that marked the same as a KO on a fighter's record?

Does high score after 10 rounds constitute a third win condition?

Is Hall of Fame 10LP or 3LP? The manual says both.

It mentions that hype increases the gate but it doesn't say how much. Knowing that would help make informed decisions.

Little things like 'Click' would only apply to the online version.

Under the phase breakdowns where it says 'Elibible Players', it's always 'All Players'

"But Blue is a long shot..." doesn't need the 'But'.

"Can't train a chin." maybe doesn't need the 'a'.

"Wager is incorect" is a strange way to describe losing a bet.

It should be 'versus' or 'vs.' not 'verses'.
