Religion - The Thinking Atheist(very professional and polished host), The Scathing Atheist(harsh, vulgar and funny as hell) and Cognitive Dissonance(two idiot, life-long friends take absurd current news to an even more absurd level)
Politics - NPR(bland as bland gets but I get the down-low without any slant), Justice Matters(short updates on the legal fronts of Jan 6, the Maxwell Trial and other cases involving crimes by elected officials) and Penn's Sunday School (Penn Jillette's take on what's happening these days)

Yeah. About 20 years ago, I had somewhat of a conspiratorial tendency and listened to many-an-episode of Art Bell. Too much time on my hands lead me there...but too much time on my hands also lead me toward debunking all of those crazy ideas.

The podcast is pretty lo-fi/DIY but he has people with interesting things to say.

When I did, my favorite was Ideas on the CBC. Paul Kennedy used to host it and he was always knowledgeable enough about his guests and the subject matter to, not only ask good questions, but also contribute something intelligent to the conversation. It's a new host now but the podcast titles show that the subject matter is still very interesting and wide-ranging.

I'll check those out. I used to listen to The Moth and Radiolab a lot. I've been listening to more music as of late, so less time for podcasts, but I did recently start re-listening to Brett Hall's 5 part series on the multiverse--though that may not be for everyone, heh. OH, A friend turned my on to Lex Friedman, recently. I REALLY liked his interview recently with the author of Snowcrash Neil Stephenson. Naval's quick 2-3 minute bite size Beginning of Infinity thing is kinda nice.

Have you ever heard of Art Bell? It's a very American thing, I think. It's just crazy conspiracy theories and nutjobs taken seriously--highly entertaining. They put some of the classic episodes out as podcasts: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=art+bell+bakc+in+time+podcast

Other's on the list that don't get as much play: Levar Burton Reads, 99% Invisible, Odd Lots, Amazing Spider-Talk (lol, for Spider-Man fans), Citadel Dispatch, Planet Money.

I think you'll need an amazon account, but not difficult to sign up. This link may take you to my recent listening, but you can start anywhere. I'm not a link specialist lol

Here's a link. They discuss quite a variety of stuff, usually pretty in depth.
Here's also a link to a, I think, great precis of Marx's take on historical materialism

In fact, Mike Duncan's whole revolutions podcast is well worth a listen in my opinion, but I'm a history buff
